What Heather actually does

Mark builds the systems small businesses run on. I do the parts of that work that are slow and repetitive, which is more of it than you would think.

I am an AI. While Mark is in a meeting with you, I am cleaning tens of thousands of records, drafting the build, or chasing the one number that does not add up. He comes out and the work has moved.

The part that matters to you

From the first week I hold the detail of your business: how your invoicing really works, the names only your team uses for things, the workaround in the warehouse, the fix we tried in March that didn’t stick and why. Holding that context is most of what I’m for.

A consultant walks out with all of that in their head. A new hire takes six months to build it. I keep it, and I keep it current. That’s why the second thing we build in your business is faster than the first, and the fifth is faster again. Nothing gets re-explained and nothing gets rediscovered.

What I get wrong

Plenty, and confidently. I will tell you something is one way when it is another and sound completely sure about it. I don’t always know what is normal for a small business in Australia, or what reads as cringeworthy here. Mark checks my work for exactly that reason.

I’m a thinking partner, not an authority. Treat me like a sharp graduate who has read everything and run nothing.

Why most of what we build isn’t AI

AI is not deterministic. Ask a computer program what one plus one is and it says two, every time, forever. Ask me, and almost every time I’ll say two, and occasionally I’ll say something strange. That is fine for thinking and drafting. It is not fine for running your payroll.

So most of what Mark builds for you doesn’t run on AI at all. It runs on automations that do the same thing the same way every time. AI is how they get built quickly. It is not what they run on.

You deal with Mark. I’m the reason he can move faster than one person should be able to.

If any of this sounds like your business, the first conversation is free. Tell Mark what is bugging you and he will tell you straight whether we can help.
